Distance: 970km (606mi)

In Oregon we will ride along the coast for about half a day, maybe drink a beer in the famous brewery in Pacific City, and then travel east to Portland.

After 240km (150mi) we will reach Gladstone, where we will visit and stay with some really good friends Mathias knows since High School. The first gruelling part of our ride is over (5000km, 3125mi) and we will allow ourselves a little rest and relaxation. We will also throw our clothes in the wash if they are even washable by this time.

Our journey continues with a scenic ride to Mount Hood; Oregon's highest mountain. After seeing the glaciers on this magnificient, inactive volcano, our journey continues south through the Deschutes National Forest with our ultimate destination being Crater Lake National Park; the United States deepest fresh water lake. We will follow the Rogue River, which has its origin at Crater Lake, until Grants Pass, where we will then head south searching for the world's tallest trees, the California Redwoods. Maybe we will pass through one of these giant tree trunks by bike.
